GhostFix 1.0 for iOS 26
Most problems come down to one of three things: the ghost wasn't found, the repair looks wrong, or saving failed. All three have a quick fix below. If yours doesn't, email us and we'll sort it out.
Getting started
- Open the app and tap Choose Image, then pick one or more photos with a green ghost in them.
- In the viewer, tap Zap Ghosts. The first zap after launch takes a few seconds longer while the models warm up.
- Press and hold the Zapped button to peek at the original. Tap Save to Photos to keep the repair as a new image.
The ghost wasn't found
The detector looks for the small, round green or cyan dot that bright lights leave behind. If it can't find one, or it finds the wrong thing, point it at the ghost yourself:
- Tap the hand icon next to Zap Ghosts.
- Tap the centre of the ghost in the photo. The app builds the repair from your tap.
- If the repair isn't right, tap the circular reset arrow and try a slightly different spot.
Large rainbow flares, haze across the frame and starburst effects aren't something the app can remove yet.
The repair looks wrong
The repair rebuilds the pixels under the ghost from the surrounding scene. It works best when the ghost sits on sky, water, grass, walls or other continuous texture. If it lands on a face, text or a fine pattern, the result may look smudged. Tap the reset arrow to start over, or use the hand icon to place the repair more precisely.
Saving fails
Saving needs permission to add photos to your library. If you declined that prompt, open the iPhone Settings app, scroll to GhostFix, tap Photos and choose Add Photos Only or Full Access. Then come back and tap Save to Photos again. Repaired photos are always saved as new images; the original stays exactly as it was.
Photos shared from other apps
You can send photos to GhostFix from the share sheet in Photos or any other app. They appear in the app the next time you open it. Nothing is uploaded; the photos are passed between apps on your device.
Requirements
iPhone 15 Pro or later, running iOS 26 or later. The app is free with no in-app purchases.
Contact
Email emily.wallace@hey.com. If you're reporting a bug, include your device model, your iOS version and, if you're comfortable sharing it, the photo that went wrong. That's usually enough to reproduce the problem.
